nanxiang is set to become the talk of the town on july 4th, 2015 as the sanxiang cultural journey series will set sail with a tale of curio at nanxiang sanxiang forestcurio. a tale of curio is a concert by top artists ready to inspire and invigorate the audience.

piano goddess renders classics

miss chen jie, known as the piano goddess, is invited to perform at the concert. she will guide the audience through a wonderful journey of the classics with her rendition.

one of the most renowned chinese pianists, chen jie was accepted by the curtis institute of music in philadelphia at the age of 12. since her début with the philadelphia orchestra under wolfgang sawallisch, at the age of 16, she has performed in many leading concert venues around the world. she has won prizes at many international competitions including the arthur rubinstein piano master competition, the santander paloma o’shea international competition, the van cliburn international piano competition (usa) and the minnesota international piano-e-competition (usa). her passion for teaching has brought her to numerous masterclasses alongside her concertizing travels, and motivated her to establish the piano department at the university of shanghai for science and technology. miss chen was chosen by kdfc classical music station of america as one of the world’s “2008 top 30 under 30” together with lang lang and yundi li from china. she is the only asian female pianist to receive this honour.
